It was a bit of a struggle for Roma today. A solid first half, but we just couldn’t find the gaps in Atalanta’s defense. The start of the second half saw some sloppy play from Roma and a bit of luck for Atalanta and we went down a goal. But Roma kept pushing forward and attacking, and were eventually rewarded with goals from Hermoso and Soulé to grab the win in the final minutes of the game. Definitely a different attitude mentally from Roma so far this season.

I have been watching the game from the start, but I am late posting about it. Couldn't ask for a better start to this game and the season. Malen got a hat-trick in the first game and currently has a brace in this game. Soule, who looked like he was on his way out during the summer break, bagged the 3rd goal of the game. About 10 minutes left to go in the first half.

Start of the second half. No substitutions for Roma yet. Let's finish the game as strong as we started.

New signing, Rodrigo Mora, came on in the 60th minute and scored his first goal in the 65th minute. I am very pleased to see the team still fighting to score goals instead of just sitting back on defense for the second half. When we do have to defend, I am seeing a whole team effort, and so far have looked solid.

2 games, 2 wins, 2 clean sheets. Daje Roma!

New season brings new hopes and dreams, but I don't know what to expect from this squad. A handful of signings, not necessarily Gasperini's first choices. Potentially a few more signings before the transfer window closes.
Let's get this season started off on a good note!

I like what I am seeing so far. Definitely not perfect, but I see a team creating chances, going for the second ball, hustling on both offense and defense. We were rewarded for our efforts with Malen's first goal of the season.
Roma 1 - 0 Fiorentina

Had Malen played in Serie A all of last season, he most likely would have won capocannoniere. So far, he has picked right back up where he left off. Let's see how the season continues, but I think the chances are good he will be in the race for capocannoniere this season.
Roma 3 - 0 Fiorentina

Pisilli added the 4th goal and Roma kept the clean sheet. This was a great start to the season. I hope to see this same level of effort in every match. If we can put in this type of performance against top 6 teams, then we can definitely be part of the scudetto conversation. It's a long season, so we will see how this progresses, but again, this was a great start.
Roma 4 - 0 Fiorentina

In a match that we needed to win, Roma couldn’t keep a hold of their early lead. A red card and sloppy defense cost us an important game.

AS Roma’s struggles have been on full display in both this game at Cagliari and last week vs Napoli. We desperately need a striker who can actually find the back of the net. Let’s hope for a miracle during the winter mercato.

And it looks like the annual Roma winter collapse/slump has begun…

Well, Roma continue their struggle against top sides. One lapse of defense and an ineffective offense resulted in the loss to Inter today. Basically the story of Roma for last several seasons.
We wasted an excellent opportunity to position ourselves at the top of the table, but honestly, the season is going better than I expected overall.

First real test for Roma. Already not off to a good start. I will reserve my thoughts until after the game.

Thanks to the Juve Milan draw, Roma end Matchday 6 in second place. But after the international break, we have a tough test against Inter. Let’s see if we can keep the momentum.

Let’s see if Roma can bounce back from their #EuropaLeague loss on Thursday to stay in the #SerieA top 4.
Fiorentina 0 - 0 AS Roma
Certainly not off to a good start for Roma. Moise Kean opens up the scoring for Fiorentina in the 14th minute.
Fiorentina 1 - 0 AS Roma
Roma equalize within 8 minutes thanks to Matias Soulé.
Fiorentina 1 - 1 AS Roma
Matias Soulé with the corner and Bryan Cristante finishes with the header to give Roma the advantage in the 30th minute.
Fiorentina 1 - 2 AS Roma
Overall a solid first half from Roma. Bounced back from an early goal by Fiorentina to take the lead into the break.
Fiorentina 1 - 2 AS Roma
A mostly uneventful second half, but a solid defensive performance sees Roma take all 3 points.
Final score: Fiorentina 1 - 2 AS Roma
I do not recognize this #ASRoma anymore. The decline started in 2017 and no changes (ownership, managerial, and players) have appeared to help. Where do we go from here?
